Description

One of the best amino acid dietary supplements available.

Formulated by a trainer and backed by research.

  • Essential amino acids (EAA’s)

Building blocks of protein and cannot be made by the body. As a result, they must be obtained from the foods we eat to support healthy cell and muscle growth and repair.

  • Tyrosine:

Improves the production of the brain chemical called dopamine that helps us have better mental drive and alertness.

  • Vitamin B6:

An important vitamin that helps the body effectively break down and utilize the amino acids for energy.

  • L-Carnitine:

Plays a crucial role in helping your body use fat as an energy source as well as boosting hormones that help you recover faster from exercise.

  • L-Aspartic Acid:

A nonessential amino acid that helps improve memory and focus as well as helps the body use carbohydrates to produce energy in the cells.

  • Citrulline:

Found naturally in watermelon – plays an integral role in increasing blood flow to the working muscles as well as helping to get rid of “waste products” like ammonia that accumulate in the body during exercise that can make you feel sore and achy for days after.

  • Betaine:

Naturally found in beets, this nutrient helps support muscle growth, recovery, and healthy hormone production by protecting the cells from the stress accumulated during exercise.

  • Electrolytes:

Minerals from our foods, like potassium, magnesium, and sodium play a crucial role in hydration and muscle function during strenuous exercise. These minerals, which can often be depleted from dehydration, poor food quality, and lost through sweat, are imperative to promote improved hydration and energy production.

I am taking a Collagen Supplement. Isn’t this good enough?

I am a proponent of collagen and personally aim to consume a high-quality collagen protein daily, I don’t recommend that collagen be taken as your only protein source or to used as a post-workout, rebuilding and recovering protein.

A Complete Protein Is Important

The human body is primarily made up of water, protein and fat. Second only to water, proteins comprise most of our tissues in the form of amino acids. About half of those amino acids is collagen.

There are 22 standard amino acids. Of those 22, 9 are “essential,” meaning they are not made by the body and must be obtained through your diet. Another 6 are “conditionally essential,” meaning your body can make sufficient amounts without getting them directly from diet, but only when circumstances are optimal.

Your body needs protein to sustain life. Protein is responsible for building every cell in your body. The full panel of essential amino acids are necessary to help you build and repair every body structure. You build them up, break then down, over and over and over again. A great amount of dietary protein every day is necessary for this to be done efficiently and effectively.

Collagen is not complete, meaning, it does not have all 9 essential amino acids that a complete protein requires. Collagen is made up of some of essential amino acids that are often lacking in our modern diet. The amino acids primarily responsible for forming collagen are glycine, proline, alanine and hydroxyproline. These are all great for supporting the body in recovery and healing but without the full essential amino acid profile (and the necessary branch chain amino acids), we are going to be missing out on some important players, especially when we are talking about rebuilding and repairing muscle. Collagen does contain 8 of the 9 essential amino acids but the ratio is skewed towards glycine, proline and hydroxyproline.

Collagen plays a very important role in the health of your gut, joints, skin, hair and nails. It supports weight management and bone health, protects your heart and optimizes liver function. As you age this is especially important because the production of collagen rapidly declines after the age of 40. This causes an increase in wrinkles, weaker joints and bones, thinning hair and other deleterious effects to our health and vitality.

This is why I recommend Complete Essentials as well as Collagen Protein Liquid from www.healthyhabits.com.  The two together cover all protein bases and give you the best recovery, healing and anti-aging support available.

If you are looking to raise your Phosphorus (protein) level on your HMA then I suggest you lean toward Complete Essentials because of its more complete amino acid profile.
